Who doesn’t love a good burger, hot dog or a pulled pork BBQ sammie on a Summer afternoon, we know some places you need to check out and get yours before the season slips away.

Dave Poe’s BBQ is just a stones throw from Marietta Square has been around since 2006 and before that, Dave was winning awards on the competition BBQ circuit and catering to local dignitaries since 1975.  All that experience certainly shows in the quality food they prepare.  You have to try some of their slow smoked, melt in your mouth pulled pork and either get a sammie or a plate with a few sides…their mac n cheese is off the hook made with big rigatoni noodles and we love the collard greens too.

Of course they have St. Louis and Baby back ribs & brisket too, but you can also try a burger, smoked wings or a fan favorite- Redneck Lasagna, which is their mac n cheese mixed with Brunswick Stew, trust us this is crazy delicious!

Australian Bakery Cafe is certainly well known for their delicious meat pies of all kinds, but few people know they offer some amazingly huge burgers too!  We suggest to indulge in the Big Boomer, which has a fresh beef patty, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, pineapple, beet root and topped with a fried egg…you better bring your appetite for this one.  They also offer some very unique burgers such as Kangaroo and Emu, which are quite lean and flavorful.  Pair it with their hand cut chips (fries) and you may need a nap afterward because your belly will be full!

Loco Willy’s is a cool vibe local joint that has killer burgers, wings and Texas Toothpicks…so let us elaborate on each of those to tempt your taste buds.  The Willenburger is a 3/4 pound monster that has all the fixins and grilled to your liking, MMM!  Their wings are offered smoked or fried and you can choose your sauce from traditional buffalo, or try something different like Mean SOB-spicy ranch, Cobra Kai-spicy Teriyaki.  If you like it really hot, give the Suicide Sauce a try which is a mix of all their sauces.

Texas Toothpicks are very popular and for good reason…it’s a flour tortilla rolled and stuffed with your choice of chicken/beef and a cheesy jalepeno mixture, served with Southwestern Ranch dressing…you will not regret ordering these, trust us!

Fox Dogs is a relatively new kid on the block and has been well received on the Marietta Square located nearby Miss Mamie’s Cupcakes.  Zach Fox, the owner is a Marietta native and been selling hot dogs from a food cart since 2010.  They use only Sabrett’s all beef dogs and have quite a variety to choose from…you can build your own with all the traditional toppings or add some specialty toppings like bacon, chili or Sabrett’s Red Onion Sauce.  Go wild and try and Chicago dog with a poppy Seed Bun, Onions, Vienna Relish, Tomato, Sport Peppers, Pickle Spear, Mustard, Celery Salt…or try a Southern Slaw dog mad with Chow chow, Cole slaw, chili, cheese and mustard.

We have heard the Italian Beef Sandwich is to die for made with a French Hoagie Roll, Thin Sliced Italian Beef, Seasoned Au Jus, Giardiniera…for sides they offer fries, onion rings and the ever so popular Corn Nuggets, Sweet creamed corn that’s battered, fried and seasoned with flaky sea salt. A fan favorite!
