Top 3 TripAdvisor Restaurants in Marietta

The top 3 restaurants on TripAdvisor in Marietta is quite the recognition from a highly respected travel rating website, but would you have guessed that all 3 places are in Marietta Square?  We have known this for a while, so let us share the details on these fantastic spots and what to eat when you check them out.

#1 Kiosco You will feel transported to Colombia in this intimate, cozy hidden gem just off the Marietta Square.  This is the epitome of a locally owned, family run restaurant and we have been coming to visit Eddie, his dad Jose and Vannesa for many years and they really treat you like family.  You must try their best selling dish, the Medio Pollo al Horno, which is literally a half chicken, slow roasted and then flash fried to make the skin crispy and delicious, served with raspberry sauce and mixed veggies!  If you are craving an authentic entree, try the Bandeja Paisa- Grilled steak, chorizo, pork rinds, maduros, rice/beans and topped with a fried egg, yum!

Everyone loves the traditional Colombian salad made with chick peas, red onion, carrot, cilantro and served cold with a simple, but delicious dressing.  The Sangria is refreshing and not too sweet, try the red, mango or peach varieties by the glass or the pitcher to share.  It makes sense that this is the #1 spot on TripAdvisor for the entire city of Marietta!  http://www.kioscocolombianrestaurant.com/

#2 Taqueria Tsunami seems to always be busy and for good reason, they offer a Latin-Asian fusion menu that will always keep you coming back to try new things.  You should start your meal off with the ever popular Avocado Cilantro Egg Rolls, which are homemade and lightly fried to perfection, served with a Santa Fe ranch & sweet and spicy Thai sauce, mmm!  It’s hard to choose a taco from the vast selection, but we like the Asada Zing Taco- Bulgogi (Korean) marinated steak topped with shitake mushrooms, lettuce, soy-sesame vinaigrette and sesame seeds…or try the Shrimp Tempura Taco- Shrimp tempura topped with Asian slaw, fresh cilantro and a hoisin-lime aioli.

They have delicious bowls and our fav is the South of the Border Bowl-Spanish rice, avocado, roasted poblano peppers and corn, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeños and chipotle sour cream, made with Chicken, Steak or Shrimp for an tidal wave of flavors.  Order a Margarita, of which they have many to choose from and kick back and relax knowing you made a good choice by visiting this hot spot on Marietta Square. http://Www.taqueriatsunami.com/

#3 Thaicoon and Sushi Bar is a true delight for all the senses!  We have been there many times and always try a new sushi roll or a different entree, but we’d like to share a few items you should not miss.  We love the King of the Sea Soup- Assorted seafood, prepared with hot pepper, lemon grass, kefir lime leaves, lime juice, mushroom, tomato, scallion, cilantro.  From the Thai menu, you can’t go wrong with the  Spicy Basil Leaf- Sautéed basil leaves, chopped garlic, carrot, bell pepper, chili and onions…or for a seafood feast, try the Thaicoon Clay Pot- Broiled shrimp, lobster tail, scallop, salmon, mussel mixed with baby corn, cabbage, mushroom, bell pepper, onions and clear noodle.

If you are a sushi fan, then you won’t be disappointed with their outstanding selection and artful presentation.  A few of our go to’s are the Double Fantasy Roll, prepared with Tuna, yellowtail, avocado, scallion, tobiko…another fav is the Super Charger roll- Spicy salmon, avocado, flake with soy wrap. topped with spicy Japanese scallop, masago, cilantro, spicy mayo & Sriracha, yummm!  They also offer Sushi Boats that serve from 1 to 4 people and offer a huge variety for your group to share.  They also offer delivery within a 3 mile radius.  https://www.thaicoonmsq.com/
